dave forgets his cell phone at home all the time, so if i need to reach him, i can't.
today, apparently, he left it at work inadvertantly.
Meanwhile, i went out for dinner with a bunch of friends i haven't seen for ages for a friend's birthday and thought i'd be home at 11 at the latest. Well, we decided to go out for drinks after, so i called at about 11:15 and left a message saying that's where i was. At about 12:30 dave got worried and went to call me, but of course realized he didn't have his phone, so he went to a *payphone* to call me, but i didn't even hear mine ring in the bar.
so, i leave the bar and get on the subway and i don't even get his message till about 1:30 when i'm almost home. I come home, parking space is empty but all the lights and the tv are on and i know he's looking gone to get his phone at work to see if i've called -s o he's out driving the half hour back to his office to see if i've left him a message because he's so worried.
i feel bad that he's worried, but not much, i'm mostly glad he realizes how ANNOYING and frustrating it is when someone can't be reached.

I've never understood the necessity and overuse of a cell phone. This constant being in touch is overkill imo -- nm

You're entitled to your opinion, but I think you're not seeing the whole picture. Crash and I both have one yet we rarely talk to each othe especially

I agree that they are overused. But the ability to be in-touch, *anywhere* is a very good. thing. -- nm
