not to chit chat. I use mine for the occasional car trouble (it's 45 miles to Boise with nothing between here and there. When we go shopping he likes to do his own thing--whipping out a phone, finding where each other is--it's a lot easier than going down al the aisles at Costco and looking for each other. Sometimes one of us is very late coming home--giving the other one a call isn't only considerate but it drops the anxiety down to nothing. Since I got so sick, he's been doing the grocery shopping and he often calls to make certain he understands something on the list. These are just a few things off the top of my head. I'm sure plenty of folks can add more reasons.
