her clothes were *more* costly than S & B's other offerings. the store worked for years before SJP. SJP's line could have worked as well.

it was the economy that killed it, really. they couldn't hold their "dollars are expensive" prices when the dollar went cheap.
it's a great case study.
god I loved S&B's.
