Here is a slightly updated version of details

We went to the neurologist who we had a follow up visit on the EEG she had four weeks ago. The CAT scan was negative but he now wanted an MRI. He also wanted an ultrasound on her swollen leg for a clot. So we ended up in the ER. The ultrasound was negative and so we were told we could leave as soon as the MRI results were in.

They found a small spot on the MRI. They claim as Darcy reported that it was a sign of a stroke within the past few days. I don't think it was within the past few days. She complained of an intense headache a few days back, but the docs say this wouldn't have caused a headache and the part on her head where she says the headache came from was the opposite hemisphere than were the spot was found.

I think the intense headache corresponded to when our maple tree dumped a huge pollen load. I have headaches too, we're both allergic to it. I think the stroke corresponded to when she was having her blood chemistry problems a few weeks back, as she woke up numb on half her body one day.

She does have an infection that has flared up over the past few days, but as far as neurological stuff goes, she is light years better than she was four weeks ago.

They are keeping her overnight to run some tests to see if they can find what caused it. The doctor assured me that there would be no surgery involved in anything, its just whether they are looking at a clogged artery or she needs some new drugs or what not.

We both got a little cranky at the hospital, I hadn't had any food yet and we were passed from doctor to doctor. Each group took the same medical history the previous one took. After the fifth medical history, I loudly said to Trish it would be neat if they wrote this information down. They could look at the information, perhaps they could call it a chart. I found out that when I'm really low on food that I channel Greg House.

But this is a new hospital to Trish and I. Its the other large hostpital in Boise, so while we have had extensive experience with two other hospitals, we don't know this one and they don't know us. So I guess repeated entering of the medical history was called for.

I did find out why all the nurses in the other two hospitals are so damn ugly. This new to us hospital has hired every hot woman in medical care in southwestern Idaho. The receptionist at the emergency room where the neurosurgeon sent us looked like Tanith Belbin. The triage nurse was a Sarah Palin look alike. And so on, and so on...
