for the excess dirt was in the flower bed. So now I'm trying to deal with that, and there is now a layer of dirt/rocks/sticks on top of the good soil that no flowers would grow in.

How would I get rid of that top layer of dirt he threw in the flower bed?

Unless you have somewhere else in the yard where it will do less damage, you'll probably just have to deep dig and recondition the soil. -- nm - MojaveMeg May 21, 10:12 2
