It's hard, but I know people who do it. I played single deck blackjack at Ceasars last fall. I actually didn't enjoy it because you spent so much

time shuffling the deck, it was too slow. But there really are still a lot places where they use a 6 deck shoe instead of continuous shuffling and other places with 2 deck shoes (though they usually do other small things to tweak the odds towards the house if they do that).
