The producers of the show found themselves in an untenable situation wherein they were raising more questions than answers. There was simply no way to get out from under the weight of that and it was obvious since the second season DUIs. So, they went a different way with it, which was their right. If you were expecting completely closure tonight, I completely understand your frustration.
