Tony Soprano is alive and well and still being investigated by the Feds.
We the audience, the charter member of the gang got wacked. It was our time to go. We were only a part of Tony's life for a few years. You guys are going to make me watch the last season again but I'm sure they mentioned that you don't hear it coming that it just goes black. Originally they were hoping the first showing would end without credits and just stay black until that time period ends but the union wouldn't give them license to do that so they had to show the credits.
Also if I remember correctly that is the only episode that didn't have music over the closing credits.
