A bunch of strangers, leading solitary wounded lives, find redemption through their experiences together on the Island. The characters are brought to the the Island by its current protector in his quest to find a successor. The Island itself is a well of chaotic electromagnetic energy (which is also the essence of mankind) which, if unleashed, would have catastrophic consequences for the world.
