But why would Jack's ultimate perfect heaven be with people he didn't know and had just created in his brain as he died?
That interpretation is unsatisfying to me, but if it works for you, that's cool.
I think the fact that Ben told Hurley, "You were a great #1" and Hurley told Ben "You were a great #2" tells us that everything that happened on the island happened and that ultimately, it passed on to better hands than Jacob's.
