exchange from Purgatory to Heaven is to take place and Heaven is the ultimate happiness then you do it.
The fact that they presented Jack, of all people, with the most happy version of purgatory made his final acceptance that he was dead all the more meaningful. Purgatory wasn't that bad...Heaven is better.
