There's nothing unique about what it did....it didn't change the game. There were process shows on (L&O predates it by a decade)

the only thing it did was use science and quite frankly that's not an evolution of television...that's just using science.

Iconic TV is television...the crime procedurals just use new tools to tell the same stories we've seen for decades.
