Other than iTunes. She was given a nano and doesn't especially want to buy all 120 tunes at full price if she doesn't have to.
Responses:
emusic is cheaper, but doesn't tend to have mass market stuff. -- nm

That's changed quite a bit with Sony most notably coming on board -- nm

Any site that lets you download mp3s. You import them into iTunes then synch them to your iPod. -- nm

She wants some specifics. Basically she's brand new to this and knows nothing about downloading MP3s. -- nm

The two main legit sources are iTunes and Amazon. LaLa allows downloads, too.

Free if they are legit, but mostly cheaper than iTunes if there is such a thing. I alrady suggested eMusic, but wondering what else there was.

Free and legit generally don't go together. Prices are pretty consistent as they are set (mostly) by the rights holders.

Amazon's MP3 stores is usually cheaper than ITunes. (and the Amazon MP3 downloader will auto-import the songs it downloads into ITunes for you) -- nm

Amazon also has 100 albums for $5 each month (some are good too!). Watch for STers to post random Amazon album deals too -- (link)

Amazon, BTW, is much more user friendly. I'd pay more to use them over the iTunes store. -- nm
