Dear bad guys in Edge of Darkness (spoilers)

Could I politely suggest that rather than tasering Mel Gibson unconscious then taking him to a theoretically secure facility, you instead shoot him in the face several times? You haven't had any issues with killing random folks until now. Why start getting squeamish in dealing with the only person thus far who has shot back? It seems like poor strategy.
