Unfortunately it was supposed to be a signature episode for the entire series which fell flat. (spoilers)

They'd really had some stellar episodes and this one was full of promise and pay off. The pay off we got was weak and the episode presented questions you knew they didn't have time to answer at this point (who was the real mother? And why did CJ bash her skull in? I think I know and it's a simple explanation they didn't even bother to answer...she needed the kids as Candidates and because she was lonely and crazy).
