I was reading CBSsports.com and this comment made me giggle.

Orange Bowl w/ BC & Cinci would suck

Q: What would be the draw?
A: None, only the devoted fans of each school would care, if they even cared. "Wow! Hey today's the big day!" "What, what is it?" "Don't you remember? BC is playing Cinci in the Orange Bowl." "Sounds unbelievable, but I am going to bed now because I have a big day tomorrow doing nothing at all. So please let me know what happened in the morning or don't, either way I will be fine. Thanks."

Face it - that is a ridculous match up with nothing to even hype or get excited about. Please don't let that match up happen. Get something interesting exciting and great. I would rather watch undefeated Boise St go down there and face Tebow's Gators and teach Urban Meyer a lesson in his backyard. Easy sell and everyone wants to know if Boise is the real deal or just how close these teams really are without computers and polls. Mano y Mano. Guarantee everbody on both sides of the Mississippi River and Mason/Dixon tune in. Of course, all the Florida or SEC touters would say it would be a beating, no contest, etc., but deep down they would be panicked to imagine the humiliation (for many years) if they lost. If Florida WACs Boise, so be it; but, if Boise wins then the whole nation will witness a Villanova over G'town, Giants over Pats, Buster D over IronMike, and a Miracle on Ice type Orange Bowl. That would be a game.

The Orange Bowl directors must be sweating buckets worried about how they can possibly sell a Boston College versus Cinci match-up. I am from Boston and I love BC (not as much as BU though), but that match-up is completely unappealing.

You know how many people would be at that game? It would be sold out because everyone in Mass and Cinci would love to be in Miami for a week out of the cold and snow; but, seriously, do you know how many people would be watching on TV? This many: I am holding my hand up with my fingers curled around to the thumb in the shape of a zero, because no one would watch that useless, pointless match-up of two teams neither of which are top ten (could both end up out of the rankings depending on what happens saturday), each with at least 2 losses, and if Cinci loses to Hawaii then it would be even more disgusting. But would-be champs of sub-par conferences (Big East is weak and ACC is only slightly better but I would say Big East and PAC 10 are weakest) this season, and Cinci does not have huge or national appeal, no remarkable collegiate FB history, or any type of commercial interest that I know of to bring viewers oe ratings. I am not having a go at either team, but I am pointing out the obvious.
