He concludes that it would have been the night that pinkman's girlfriend died. If he had just stayed at home watching TV, he could have died happy in that moment.
So, in a similar line of thinking, when it comes to TV series that have jumped the shark or just started sucking in general: When would the ideal time have been to just stop watching?
In the case of Heroes, it was clearly the penultimate episode of the first season.
