Richard is with the Others constantly. If Dharma was brought to the island by Jacob, Richard would know this and the Others and Dharma would be one big happy family. Ben didn't corrupt anything. He was a child when the Others wiped out Dharma. They saved Ben for some reason. Because he was a candidate? I don't know. But Jacob bringing people to the island so he can just kill them makes him just as evil as MIB, and I don't buy it. Then again, if Jacob - through Richard - is directing the Others, and the Others intentionally killed a number of the survivors, then maybe Jacob was bringing people to the island just to kill then, and he IS evil. Well, that sucks.
