How the mother would knew that Jacob would threw his brother into the light in the future? That's too much speculation from you.
The guardian's job is to protect the light from MEN! She especifically says to neither of the two to enter the cave. She could never imagine Jacob would "create" Smokey.
And the mother is indeed very, very good. Killing the real mom of twins and lying to them about their real origin.
A true example to be followed...
