a bunch of tests are done, MRI, CAT scans, blood work, x-rays.
after a few hours a doctor comes in and says "We don't know what is wrong. Your body seems to be shutting down and we can't stop it."
the man is stunned. he asks the doctor "How long have I got ?"
the doctor checks his notes, looks at his watch and says "ten".
"What does that mean - ten days, ten weeks, ten months ?" asks the patient.
the doctor looks at his watch again - "nine".
