my mum had a bunch of turquois stuff from when she lived in Arizona back as a WAC (womens army corp) and I inherited some of it - was made for her by women on the reservations - mome recruited some of their daughters into the service in the 40's and it was their way of showing appreciation etc.. They are just beautiful - and priceless to me - so I know what you mean I think.
