SATC2 is to SATC Series, as Scary Movie 4 is to Scream. (no spoilers).

With a dash of latter season Will and Grace tossed in.
I must say I wasn't bored, it was funny in places, but wow, it was pretty much a spoof of themselves. The other analogy i considered using was that it was like a Simpsons Episode version of the original.
It was wildly uneven, swerving between 'revelations of womanhood' and camp humour. but, the crowd (die hard fans) seemed to enjoy it. my friend did. i just went with it and laughed along with it, but, yeah, it's not a good movie. Ssample line from samantha "he's my Lawrence of My-Labia!".
however, i have NEVER been to a preview as crazy as this one. we were meeting in the building that the theatre is in at 6, and the preview started at 8. Our PLAN was to trade in our preview invites for actual tickets early and go grab a drink. HA! there was a GIANT line already when i got there (and everyone well dressed). And the line wasn't moving yet because they weren't ready yet. Just chaos. Finally at 6:30 they start moving the line (after much discussion of different coloured passes, and possibly splitting lines, etc.) So, we expect that, as usual, we will trade our pass for computer tickets (normal movie tickets.) NOPE! the wanted us to go directly to the theatre AT 6:40PM! for a 8PM movie! and a 2.5 hour movie at that. Well, my friend is 8.5 months preggo and there was no way we were sitting in a theatre for well over 4 hours. So we used her obvious pregnancy to get them to stamp our ripped passes so we could get back in and said we'd come back later and take our chances at getting seats (the staff said to us about 100 times - 'it's going to be full.' we didn't care, if it was we'd just see it today.) anyway, we left, went elsewhere, had some lovely lobster bisque and wine, wandered back in at 7:46 and got seats. Near the front, but whatever. Everyone who'd been in there since 6:40 were a little restless already, thank god we didn't stay.
it's going to be hit, regardless of it's ridiculousness. no question.

I think they missed an opportunity here to add some young girls to prep the series for a re-boot.

out of curiosity, what would you estimate as the breakdown by male/female in the audience? -- nm
