my "office" drama is elections! excerpt from a candidate statement? sure!

An Eagle Scout represents the epitome of trust, integrity, and honorand although I am one myself, I am also responsible for training future Eagle Scouts in my hometown. For over ten years I have mentored youth in my area as they work to develop their leadership abilities. I teach them the value of integrity and accountability, how to handle the ethical challenges that leaders often face, and how to hold themselves to these ideals by leading through example. I may be living in State College now, but that makes no difference to me: I still check in with my Scouts every week to give them advice and support, coordinate their individual training, and mentor them when they engage in challenging situations. On average, only two percent of Boy Scouts earn the rank of Eagle Scout; over seventy-five percent of the Scouts that I train reach that goal. My commitment to cheerful, selfless work for the benefit of others no matter how tired or busy I am gets passed on to the Scouts I mentor, and this same commitment will be invaluable to our class as we work to ensure the success of our Honor Code. Most importantly, I bring with me a personal commitment to honor, trust, and responsibility that few other candidates can claim.
