In response to "What kind of car are you looking for? SUV, compact, sports? I have to buy a car very soon. I'm pretty sure they're going to say mine is totalled " by jnine

So I been to GMC, Buick, Acura, Infiniti, Dodge, Volvo and Chevy. I was looking at SUVs and sedans.

Check out truecar.com.
Pick the car and options, then click the "Details". You should be able to get the car for the lowest price that is shown (unless it is a very popular car that is in high demand/low supply).

I got my mom's car below the best price listed there last month. And today the dealer agreed to give a car for "great price" range as well. So it is definitely something attainable. Of course the pushy/jerk dealer today didn't want to pull up that website because he said those are fake.. so I walked away. There is enough competition in LA to be able to get that great price.

If you are interested in residual values you can go to acura.com and compare cars there. In the comparison they actually list the typical residual. But again, the residual is set by the leasing company is there isn't really any room to pay there.
