What I found funny is how everyone likes that the refs let them play. But that certainly seemed organized. As in someone got together and decided on a particular style of calling the game.
I liked that they let them play. They should do that always...regular season and playoffs.
There were a bunch of times when C's players were laying on the floor expecting to draw a foul but none were called (meanwhile Kobe and Gasol look like their trying to master human powered flight with all the arm flapping...Pierce too I suppose). I liked that the refs swallowed the whistles however. There's far too much Foul Drawing in the game now.
I blame the fact that the C's couldn't score. I think the lack of Perk hurt them tremendously. Not just for the obvious reason in lack of a rebounding presence but what that rebounding translates into. It means no outlet passes to Rondo who pushes it up the floor and either slices into the paint for an easy bucket or a foul or dishing it off for perimeter shots.
The bench did nothing as well.
Ray and Pierce couldn't score.
It was a perfect storm of bad play for the Celts but really...is anyone surprised? They've done it all season long. They got by with All Star Defense but at some points you need to score.
