I try not go all in unless I have a made hand. With a K and Q showing at the flop...

You had to realize that one of the heavy betters had either top or middle pair, meaning you were drawing to eight cards, the aces and the nines (or a 1/16 chance of diamond/diamond, I guess). You still had a factor of 8.5 over the blinds. Going all in there is relying on luck too much.
