It was the first WC that I cared about. I had played soccer when I was a kid but stopped when I was 10 or so to focus on baseball and basketball.
When the cup came to America in 1994 and Italy was expected to do well everyone in my neighborhood was excited and it got me back into soccer.
I grew up in one of the largest Italian neighborhoods in Brooklyn. Everywhere you went Italian flags were flying and people were hanging out of cars screaming after ever match. It was wonderful.

When Baggio's kick sailed over the goal it broke my heart and cemented my dislike for Brazil. I can admit they're a great team but I always root for whomever they're playing against.
