You cannot trade a player for no player in the other major leagues, NFL, NHL or MLB.

To wit, the Predators made a cap space related move last week with Jason Arnott. We got two players back in the deal. This is the *only* league where a team is encouraged to exchange physical bodies for phantom concepts.
