The lyric:

"I shot a man in memphis" (a variant of Cash's "I shot a man in Reno" lyric)

Now, if you know of a somewhat lighthearted sounding current song with that lyric, definitely let me know, but my brain has been playing it over and over in an interesting voice.

It took me a half hour to realize the voice and vocal pattern was John Lennon, from the song "Eleanor Rigby". I listened to it the whole way through for the first time on Wednesday, even though it's been in my library for months. Very odd that it would pop up this way. Heh.

  - Although it may be possible to imagine Lennon singing, I guess. The timber of his voice is quite different from Paul's. (Or maybe it's Neil Innes, who - mara Jul 2, 07:45 1
