The rules as they stand are in direct contravention of a spirit of fairness that should be the foundation stone of any sport.

In this case, to treat an illegal goal line stop the same as a regular handball in the penalty area is inane in the extreme and points to a failure in the rules to fairly distinguish one from the other. As regards the former, lack of use of technology is to blame.
