as guards against weird rain. I own three. none can handle the NH rain. I just bought this lovely lady and she is fab. *fab.* the nicest shade of pink you can imagine -- no obnoxiousness, no glare. there's some purple there that's not showing in the photo that tempers the "oh my god that coat is pink" without detracting from the fact that you are a gorgeous lady wearing a pink coat. it is as perfect a useful raincoat as I have ever owned, and I have owned many.
