STIS: Does anyone have program they like to convert flv files?

I need to convert flv files to something my xbox will read. I'd like to convert them to .avi or .wmv but everything I've tried is either really slow or too difficult for me to use and I lose quality.

I've tried using vlc media player but it's not working as I'd like.

Any suggestions?
