That seems odd. It would almost be like playing a man down.

Would you want to play a player who has more of a reason to want the other team to win?

Of course, Girardi choosing him probably doesn't please the Yankees GM that much. The Yankees are one of the teams interested in trading for Wiggington. His price has to go up a bit when their manager selects him for the AS team.
