Becuase the entire goal of a reliever is not to let the other guys score.

Rhodes did it to the tune of historically low #'s for 98% of the first half. We're not talking he had a 1.00 ERA. It was 1/4 of that. Gregerson doesn't put many on base, but those guys disproportionally score, in contrast to Rhodes, it seems.
