My Comcast cable modem crapped out after about 18 months. Took it in and got a new (better?) one. I'll pay the $5/month for that piece of mind.

I almost bought a Motorola one for $60 or $70, and I would have probably saved money by now, but it's the same difference between getting 2 or 3 movies from Netflix. I could drop it to 2 and save money, but I sometimes like having the 3. $5/month just means don't eat out one day.
