have time. It's surrounded by quicksand so pay attention to the tide if you aren't with a group.
The American veteran's cemetary is so vast, you get a real feel for just how immense the toll from the battles was. Roosevelt's son who died in ww1 is buried there so he could be with his brother.
Saving Private Ryan came out right after I got back. It was so emotional to see after just having been on those beaches.
You can go north to Honfleurs, which is beautiful, but touristy, and the casino at Deauville.
