he never could carry NWA/WCW at any point and in the ring, when it wasn't with Flair, he couldn't have good matches often.

That was pure hype. He had a look and he had some skills but when it came to the big matches he'd choke for years....

WWE was changing. Sting might been top notch in the late 80's on some in-ring, but by 91...it was back to Flair
