he did do a day worth of shooting but it was so bad they used very little of of it. He apparently called Speilberg at 3am the next day and asked how badly he embarrassed himself.

He did it sober the next day.

This per a special we watched, with Speilberg, a few days ago.

It is one of the scariest scenes in one of the scariest movies.
