One, the explicitness of the sexual violence, in one scene in particular.

Two, I think the pacing of the book, especially the first half of book one, is very slow, meticulous, and non-action-packed, which would make me think the majority of modern readers would hit page 150 and say "fuck this in the ear". But they don't.
