I'm all for acting in a sane manner. As I said earlier today, air pollution has been steadily decreasing (in this country, anyway) for decades thanks to gradually improving technology.

Invest in cleaner energy? By all means. Charge me an extra few bucks in taxes and I'll be glad to pitch in. I even changed all the light bulbs in my house (and spent several thousand dollars on insulation and new windows to make my house more energy efficient last year).

But start a bureaucratic cap-and-trade system designed by the people who will get rich from it, hurting our industry and slowing our economy in the midst of a recession? Not sane.
