i'm assuming the action picks up in the third act (don't spoil me bro!) but god the first hour was just laborious exposition about the "rules"

Matrix did all of that in five minutes between Morpheus and Neo. boom, done. onto the plot

if you need an hour to set up your premise, your premise sucks
