even if i could have been emotionally invested in Cobb and his relationship with Mal and the children, that investment is totally undercut and undermined by the stupid final shot.
even if you say "oh, it's ambiguous, just Nolan fucking with you before you leave the theater" nothing matters, dramatically, if the whole story of Cobb getting back to his children was all just a dream
