I like them plain, too, with homemade strawberry jam or maple syrup.

I first tried them that way at a local festival when I was a kidlet. my mom bought a pan and made them sometimes.

I subsequently had them during various visits to solvang in southern california. so good. :) -

I've made other danish treats from a recipe book I bought there, just not the aebls.

oh! they were on a food show recently - someone really liked a version with banana something or other in them, I think it was.
