FWIW, I've found I can but I have 20/10 vision. If you play videogames, I think it's a significant difference.

And it should be since it's 50% more (from 720 to 1080).

not really, my wife maybe an hour or two in the evening...it'll blow the doors off the 25 year old 19 incher we have right now I figure :) -- nm

Upon reflection, I'd probably rule the Toshiba out. 12.5k contrast is awful. And I note that this is not the Sony we liked. It's only 720p as well. -- nm
