interesting. how about the shows that are based on forensics? there's a finite number of plots, I would think.

God, it must be hard to come up with neatly packaged plots, season after season. I remember hearing that writers for CSI went to forensics conferences to hear case studies.
I totally understand the L&O "ripped from the headlines" plots.
