Up in Auburn a little town past Sacramento a man broke into the shuttered Valencia Club building, put an Open sign in the window, and began to sell booze from behind the bar starting with a six-pack he bought across the street. He then used his profits to buy and sell more booze, serving about 30 people a day.
This lasted for four days before anyone caught on.
Authorities discovered the shenanigans after an article in the local paper that erroneously celebrated the landmark bars resurrection. Journalism!
The culprit a 28-year-old man named Travis Lloyd Kevie who claims to be a rodeo cowboy, but is more of a transient is being held in the Placer County Jail for burglary and selling alcohol sans license.
