Well, compared to them, he is. My problem with the show is kind of the reverse. (spoilers)

The townspeople/GD people are supposedly brainiacs, yet when something goes wrong, they never call anyone and generally act stupid.
I do like this new time-travel|reboot idea, even though it is kind of a stretch.
