I'm just saying, I'm pretty sure if Stats Can wanted to "make it work" which was the quote from their head last week, they could find a way.

The coverage/debate on this has been pile-on. When it comes to Canadian politics, the mob is rarely 100% correct.

PS: And unless you are an agent of Parliament (Auditor General, Speaker, Budget Watchdog), all bureaucrats report to the Minister and SHOULD report to the Minister because the Minister is the one ultimately responsible. Bureaucrats who don't get that - and Scheik isn't one of them because he did the right thing - need to quit and find another job where they get to be the boss. Otherwise, it's presents options to the gov't and then accept the choices made.
