I'm with you. I treat other's stuff more carefully. Though I also agree with Leno.

With Bana's car, it was still *his* car, but it was no longer as personal to him.

I treat other people's stuff with respect because I have respect for the owners. Eric *was* the owner but had lost personal connection with the car, so there was nobody to maintain respect for.
