i think his (poorly stated) point about the holocaust was that it is the most popular WWII subject in entertainment

which is true. there are far more films about that than other aspects of the war or Nazi atrocities.
but that's entirely natural. everything in entertainment is imbued with the people telling the story. its true no matter who is involved or what the subject matter is. i don't think its a sign of any larger controlling interest. just how humans are.
